About the Band Plans
Henderson County ARES has established standard band plans for VHF, UHF, and HF communications. This standardization permits simplified operations usage. When all members of an emergency or public service operational team have the same channelization scheme set in to their radios, it is only necessary for a net control station to announce “Stations switch to VHF Channel 8” rather than fumbling through explanations of frequency, offset, PL tones, etc.
The following are webpages for each of the three plans. At a minimum, stations should have at least the VHF plan programmed in to their radio. Note that some channels may be blank. This is intentional to allow for future upgrades/additions with having to reprogram the entire table. You should program your radio with those channels empty. Each of these plans has restricted access and is only available to members.
