  • K4REF How-to Video SeriesWinlink & RMS Express.  An excellent series for anyone who wants to learn about the various aspects of WL2K and the associated software.  He covers many aspects in detail, including what it is, how to set it up, and how to use it.  All sorts of things you thought you already knew how to do, and many you didn’t even know were possible.
  • One video of real use to us is Winlink – “How To Use Forms”  It covers the capability of using HTML forms, where to get them, how to install them, and how to use them.
  • NC ARES/AUXCOMM this link takes you to the official North Carolina ARES/AUXCOMM information page.  It explains the difference and the qualifications required for either program.
  • The first step in completing your ARES/AUXCOMM training is to obtain a free FEMA training ID from this site
  • The next step is to enroll in one of the four free online ICS training courses at the FEMA training site.
  • Though it is normal to complete them in sequence of 100c, 200c, 700b, 800d it has been found that taking them in the following order  of 100c, 700b, 200c and then 800d makes it easier to follow the progression of the concept.  Each of the courses can be completed in a morning.  One tip is to remember to save the pdf file of your completion certificate for uploading later into the States Auxcomm database.
