Getting Started

To become AUXCOMM certified, individuals must meet specific specialized requirements and take the following steps.

To begin, each individual must obtain a FEMA Student Identification Number (SID#).

For more information, visit: https://training.fema.gov/

The SID# isn’t mandatory for taking the online training, but it’s required for the final test of each course. Please record your SID# in a convenient location, as you’ll need it frequently during your training. FEMA will also maintain a record of your successful training. If you need a script, you can request it.

The training requirements include completing the following online courses (available at https://training.fema.gov/is/):

There are numerous FEMA online courses available, but the following are the minimum requirements to become AUX-COMM certified in North Carolina:

– ISC-100.c
